Common Questions from Clients Employees

Who are they and what do they know about our business?

Carpedia is an implementation-based consulting company that has worked with some of the largest, most well-run companies in the world.  Our methodology is not industry-specific and is designed to identify and install operational improvements.  This is our area of expertise.  We work with all levels of your organization to understand the business both internally and externally. But ultimately we view your staff as the content experts when it comes to the complexities of your business and we will work closely with you to vet details and install all changes.

Why are they here? Why now?

In the short term we work hand-in-hand with you to generate operational improvements to improve the immediate profitability of your business.  This could be through increased revenue, reduced costs or some combination of the two. In the medium term we build a platform to continue to drive sustainable operational results to solidify the long term success of your business.

For employees at any level, this demonstrates a clear commitment to investing in the future success of your business.

What are their qualifications?

Like many consulting companies, Carpedia employees come from a wide variety of educational backgrounds ranging from business to history.  All employees are thoroughly trained in our comprehensive implementation based methodology.  The common denominator is that we are all hard working and pragmatic people committed to the success of your business.

How long will they be here?

A typical project has a project team on site daily for 4-6 months.  The size of the team may change over this timeframe depending on the requirements of the particular phase of the program.

Are they going to take credit for my ideas?

No, absolutely not.  We will always give credit where credit is due.  We recognize that there are always barriers or challenges to implementing change.  Often the barrier is simply that there are not enough hours in the day for an employee to drive change, plus handle normal roles and responsibilities.

The difference between a good project and a great one is the ease in which ideas flow between our project team and your staff.  The sooner in a project that we can come together as one team united in achieving the required results of the project the more we can accomplish.

Will I lose my job?

Carpedia does not manage the business and is not responsible for making any staffing decisions.  If the workload of an area is affected during a project it is the decision of your managers as to how to use or distribute the resources of the company.

Should I speak to them directly or through my manager?

Our teams are very approachable and work closely with staff at all levels which means daily interaction.  As a result, we hope that all staff are comfortable in providing their input directly.  However, we recognize that comfort levels vary so if a staff member would rather channel feedback through management that is fine as well.

Are they going to be telling me what to do?

No.  No member of a project team will manage your employees at any time.  We try at all times to be respectful of your time and minimize disruptions to daily work flow.  Typical requests from our team involve participation in critique sessions, requests for qualitative or quantitative information, review of analysis and “day in the life” observations.

What do I do if they are preventing me from getting my work done?

If at any time your staff feels that interactions with our team are preventing them from completing their work, we need to hear about it immediately so that we can respond accordingly.  We try to be proactive on this topic and request this of all staff at the beginning of each project.

Can I share confidential information with them?

Yes.  At the beginning of each project we sign a strict non-disclosure agreement that legally binds our teams to absolute confidentiality for all clients.
